Powers of Attorney Solicitors
Choose who you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you ever can't make them yourself. Aaron guides you through every step, in plain English.

A Lasting Power of Attorney is one of the most important documents you can put in place — yet it's the one most people leave too late. An LPA lets you choose someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you ever lose the ability to make them yourself.
There are two types. A Property & Financial Affairs LPA covers your money, bills, property, and investments. A Health & Welfare LPA covers your medical treatment, daily care, and living arrangements. Most people benefit from having both.
Who Is This For?
LPAs aren't just for older people. Anyone over 18 should consider putting them in place, because capacity can be lost at any age through accident, illness, or stroke. Aaron's LPA services are particularly relevant for:
Anyone who wants to make sure their finances are managed by someone they trust if they can't manage them themselves. People who want a say in their future medical care and living arrangements. Couples who want to protect each other. Parents with young families who need a backup plan. Anyone approaching retirement who wants to plan ahead while they're fit and well.
What Aaron Offers
Aaron handles the entire LPA process personally — from helping you choose the right attorneys, through drafting the documents, to signing and full registration with the Office of the Public Guardian. He acts as your Certificate Provider (the independent person who confirms you understand what you're signing), which saves you the trouble of finding one.
Everything is explained in plain English. Aaron will walk you through the difference between the two types of LPA, help you think about the decisions your attorneys might need to make, and make sure your wishes are clearly recorded. Home visits are available across East and North Yorkshire.
Common Questions
How much does an LPA cost?
A single LPA starts from £550. Complete LPA Protection (both types for one person) is £950, saving £150 compared to buying them separately. Couples packages offer even greater savings. All fees are fixed.
How long does registration take?
Aaron can usually have your LPA drafted and signed within 1-2 weeks. Registration with the Office of the Public Guardian then takes around 20 weeks. Your LPA can't be used until it's registered, which is why it's worth starting early.
What happens if I don't have an LPA?
Without an LPA, your family would need to apply to the Court of Protection for a deputyship order — a process that's expensive (often £2,000+), slow (several months), and stressful. And the court chooses who manages your affairs, not you.
